Final product

Our opening clip is a horror movie called "Game of Captivity." Our movie is about the kidnapping of our character Bella. She is being stalked by the antagonist Ace while she is on her run. She suddenly feels something off when she is about to go on this run. She looks around to be aware of her surrondings however, she doesn't see him hiding. She continues the run only to be put unconscious. Ace goes up to her from behind with a cloth containing chemicals going over her mouth. This knocks Bella unconscious and leads to her falling limp. He drags her all the way back  through the woods and then she is placed on his shoulder before being put in the trunk. He wants to play a psychological game with her once she is taken and says "wanna play a game?" This is an important moment since the following parts of the film would lead to a different location where she would need to escape from his captivity and "play a game."

Final touches

We finished doing our main editing in the film but, we wanted to go back and make a few adjustments to our film. Some parts looked choppy and our sounds did not match where they needed to be placed. As a group, we cut the choppy parts out and we also did add a few edits to really give our film some cool and informational features! We incorporated the crew and cast list. We stated our actors Ace and Isabella, directors, producers, and editors. It was a nice finishing touch to our film. We put all the credits on different screens so it wouldn't be too overcrowding all on one screen. Ryleigh added shadows and effects to the text to create a more spooky and suspenseful effect.

Foley Sounds

In our film we used foley sounds to emphasize the sound in some parts of our opening. For example, we used branches and leaves to create loud, crunching noises to emphasize our antagonist walking around and stalking the main character on her run.  Creating the sounds was really fun and cool to do and hearing what we did over the video is a interesting thing to see come to life!

Editing

This week, our primary focus was on the editing process, which is one of the most challenging aspects of our project since it could determine our entire film. It was my first time ever editing a major project like this, but youtube and peers helped me with using Canva to put out film together and come to life. We reviewed all the trimmed videos we went through and added sound elements to make sure met our expectations before shifting our attention to transitions. We incorporated various transitions between clips to avoid abrupt cuts, utilizing techniques such as fades, dissolves, and swipes to enhance the film's visual appeal and fluidity. This addition effectively addressed the flow issue we identified last week and was crucial for improving the opening sequence.  Additionally, we established our studio name, BAR Films, which combines the initials of our names: Bella (short for Isabella), Ashley, and Ryleigh. This step lends a sense of professionalism and provides a title f...

Filming+Editing

This week, our group started filming. I was not able to make it to the filming because I had work, but Ryleigh and Bella got it done. During our next class, we went through all of our clips and made sure they added up to meet our time requirement. We decided on the clips that displayed our film the best and the ones we were happy with.  We started to organize them into order and make sure that they would be placed in the correct spot for logical sense . This was important because it also decided which scenes would be in our film or not used. Finding which clips to use seemed difficult at some points because we couldn't pick out the true message we wanted to send to the audience depending on each clip. Some were clearly more better than others while other takes only were off by slight differences. When choosing which clip to use in each of the cases they were only slightly different came down to which ones seemed to showcase emotions, angles or movements better. Once we had ...
