Filming+Editing

This week, our group started filming. I was not able to make it to the filming because I had work, but Ryleigh and Bella got it done. During our next class, we went through all of our clips and made sure they added up to meet our time requirement. We decided on the clips that displayed our film the best and the ones we were happy with.  We started to organize them into order and make sure that they would be placed in the correct spot for logical sense. This was important because it also decided which scenes would be in our film or not used. Finding which clips to use seemed difficult at some points because we couldn't pick out the true message we wanted to send to the audience depending on each clip. Some were clearly more better than others while other takes only were off by slight differences. When choosing which clip to use in each of the cases they were only slightly different came down to which ones seemed to showcase emotions, angles or movements better. Once we had all our videos in one folder we uploaded them onto Canva in order. While doing this, I picked out the final storyboard for our film and made it come to life. I put all the videos they created into one film and we edited the length of them. We also uploaded sounds and made sure that the sounds we made aligned with the movements, and muted the videos that were shown where the sounds were not what we expected. This part was not as hard as the filming part since we mainly were editing the clips we already had before starting transitions and adding more appeal. While doing this, I picked out the final storyboard for our film and made it come to life. I put all the videos they created into one film and we edited the length of them.

Mood Board

On my mood board, I put dark colors, abandoned houses, and woods. This serves as inspiration to our film by showing the mood and setting of our film and how we are planning to accomplish this opening. I worked with a group and we all made our own mood boards but I picked out the woods pictures and color theme of our film.

Editing

This week, our primary focus was on the editing process, which is one of the most challenging aspects of our project since it could determine our entire film. It was my first time ever editing a major project like this, but youtube and peers helped me with using Canva to put out film together and come to life. We reviewed all the trimmed videos we went through and added sound elements to make sure met our expectations before shifting our attention to transitions. We incorporated various transitions between clips to avoid abrupt cuts, utilizing techniques such as fades, dissolves, and swipes to enhance the film's visual appeal and fluidity. This addition effectively addressed the flow issue we identified last week and was crucial for improving the opening sequence.  Additionally, we established our studio name, BAR Films, which combines the initials of our names: Bella (short for Isabella), Ashley, and Ryleigh. This step lends a sense of professionalism and provides a title f...
